Custom Pinwheels

I love pinwheels. Sue me. I like putting them on my hats, I like putting them in my flower arrangements and on my lampshades and in your Easter baskets and your hair and your birthday presents, your kids and your dogs. But this headband! Oh this delicious red, white and blue headband takes my pinwheel shaped cake!! The retro carnival, state fair lover in me wants to wear this always.

So much so that I slapped a birdcage on it backstage in 3.5 seconds and it was my runway show finale piece for the Wounded Warriors Benefit!

All of the pinwheels are mismatched in vintage red, white and blue prints from stripes to houndstooth to eyelet! #classic

A few of my fave Two Back Flats pinwheel moments from the very first pink ones I used for Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum hats!! Carnival weddings! Fourth of July Parade top hats! They just work for every. little. thing. Fricken delightful!

FEATURED ON THE WEDDING CHICKS!!!

When I was engaged in 2009 The Wedding Chicks had just busted out of the gates with their DIY wedding blog and needless to say - I was ALL over it. Here we are a measly 3 years later and my work is featured there?!?! This is so awesome I hadnt even dreamt it!! Thank you thank you thank you!

Headpiece Inspiration:

Invitation By Shel Silverstein in The Sidewalk Ends
If you are a dreamer, come in.
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er, a pray-er, a magic bean buyer . . .
If you’re a pretender,
come sit by my fire,
For we have some flax golden tales to spin.
Come in!
Come in!

I love this color palette. Top hat was handmade using a grey silk dupioni, dusty pink satin and tulle. I love gold on anything! Vintage gold leaf found at a flea market in Vermont! The gold/brown goose feather makes it so subtly earthy.

Could cry over this bouquet by Anthomanic
You may recognize the birdcage veil piece from the Cherry Blossom Collection. This thing seriously looks a-mazing on everyone!!

This hat looks good at every angle. Mission accomplished.

Feelin' Free

I made this red, white and blue top hat for a lovely little pageant lady. But, I had to light some sparklers and get my 4th of July on with it before it shipped! (Don't worry - only for a moment ;)

Handmade from scratch using ALL upcycled fabrics. Pretty rad.

Happy short work week fellow Americans!
One Love,
Jas

Woodland Wonderland

I am so inspired by this woodsy, Autumn color palette for an Alice in Wonderland wedding.

Burnt Orange, Purple Plum, Coffee/Toffee, Antique Gold & Cream
(and some lace to top it off)

Remember this vintage cameo earring?? Perfect fit. There is one of the pair left!

Burnt orange, gold and ivory flower girl hats. De-light-ful.

So Victorian and romantic....sigh*
