Victorian Tea Party Mini Top Hat

Try as hard as you possibly can to contain your jealousy: The lady I made this hat for gives pony rides for a living. And they're not just ponies. They're rainbow haired ponies.
You know how I feel about rainbow hair.

Magical things happen to magical people. Just as I was completing her headpiece, I found this vintage horse cameo locket to complete it. Seriously. In that color blue.

This was a custom order to match a pink and blue floral Victorian tea party outfit Angela made for herself. If you love anything girly and lacy...you would flip! I hope we'll see pics of the whole ensemble together! Cough. Cough.

Thank you universe for continuously sending me the world's coolest customers and best vintage pins.

As always for your own custom hat or headpiece message me via Etsy or Facebook

BALTIMORE REPRESENT

A little behind the scenes from the Two Back Flats
RAW Natural Born Artist Showcase prep at Fells Point Salon.

I wanna be rich and famous so all my friends will be rich and famous too.

The two gypsy, pirate goddesses below are responsible for doing the best hair in Baltimore...and for teaching me all their ways from haircuts to living free. Always looking up to both of you Nina and Melanye.

The brand new Fells Point Salon location : 735 S. Ann St. Baltimore, MD 21231

The beautiful and talented Maureen Flynn on makeup.

WHOA. Meet Laina. I literally met this girl on the street a few weeks ago while she was wasting her sweet time as a hostess. She had a perfect victory roll, little blazer and killer heels. All I kept thinking was "this girl needs a top hat". If you build it they will come. I am so glad she didn't think I was a creep and e-mailed me back. Thank you universe. Perfection:

Another of my lady canvases for the evening the la la lovely Lauren Burton! Let's all take note that not only did L not flinch, but she sat around looking gorgeous as her entire head was covered in rows of perm rods. Thats right perm rods. #LikeABoss

You can tell Melanye is from Baltimore with those stellar hair teasing skillz.

this photo melts my heart. So many of my favorite things:

are you freaking out about the black and white striped mini top hat too?

I wanted each of my girls for the evening to represent a little bit of Two Back Flats. A little Mad,  a little Moulin Rouge and of course a little retro! The hats and headpieces speak for themselves but I could not have pulled this off without this hair, makeup and modeling expertise!

The darling and sensational Miss Fawn rocking my pin up look with our ever so loved pinwheel headband! Go check out this lady if you know what is good for you. She is professional and sultry and pretty damn fabulous.

Me sassing it up in my black top hat for the camera per usual. Plus I can never keep a straight face when Alana is around.

Fun fact: Two Back Flats was actually BORN about 4 houses behind where Miss Fawn is strutting.
How delightful, right?

let us also discuss the heels these girls both whipped out of their bags like I have some sort of genie in a bottle. #soulsisters #bringmeyourmostridiculousshoes

I want to thank all of these ladies who I am blessed and honored to call friends. You will call them too if you know whats up:

Have I told you lately how much I sweat The Bellevederes? Rip roaring female leads, 60's throwbacks, hip swinging and some hair bows, bitches. Plus, I get to style their heads for all their fanciest and shmanciest events. A couple weeks ago, we rolled into the MPT studios with our vintage luggage for a Concert for the Chesapeake Bay.. in collab, of course,  with 89.7 WTMD !!! This is a new level of hipster bad assery btw.

Didnt get any backstage shots per usual cause my hands are always full of hairspray and ribbons. Oops. But you can alwayssss find me as close to front row as possible when its time to
dance dance dance! And you can bet your ass that MPT does it right. Seeing the sound room and all the sets were as close to feeling cool as I think I've come...

The stunning and talented Denny Finnerin. #likeaboss.

Colorful little wedding hats

I pull up to Readyluck's studio which is in one of my absolute favorite parts of Baltimore and I know this is going to be a bloody good day. This part of town is nothing but bricks and bricks and windows and windows. Old textile mills and foundries from the 17th century that look as if they just grew from the earth and then Baltimore happened around it. So much of the city's innovation and growth happened exactly where this shoot went down. It is really no wonder that this team gathered there... and I'm pretty sure we did the old walls justice.

I get into one of those crazy, old ass service elevators, ya know? With the double steel doors that give you that total "oh shit" moment when everything slams and rumbles and you inch slowwwwly up or down.

Then I walk into this lovely scene:

\

Can't really express how jealous I am that Lindsey and her team get to work in that kind of light every day.

As I get to create on a daily basis I am finding more and more that I am mostly inspired by colors. I just love me an unexpected combination of anything!  Of course I was on board when I saw Readyluck's Neutral and Neon inspiration the ol' Pinterest..... I wont lie, I have not been the biggest advocate of the neon comeback but Lindsay turned it into art.

One totally whimsical, ridiculously radical, completely unique wedding style shoot = art art art.

(te-he - I am holding this giraffe behind the scenes ;) I was so stoked about this,
I cannot even begin to tell you...)

I got this yellow and green psychedelic chic (what? that's a real thing) vintage fabric from an old barn in western Maryland. I'm not sure what kind of groovy blouse or something this fabric once made, but it is definitely continuing on its destiny with this mini hat.

A. I think I may have made this hat for the gorgeous Diamond Dixon (above & below) and not even known it.
B. I loved seeing this hat paired with both a bridesmaid dress and a wedding dress. It is clearly a win.

This color combination was a bit of a mind melt for me, but I pretty much sweat this sunshine yellow silk with the pink, red and teal. I had to come back to this hat like fourteen times before it was complete. Worth it.

I am also not sure if I am more in love with Lauren Ward's rainbow hair...which she does herself... or this white and gold porcelain gnome. Give me a fricken breakkkkk!!!
