Mini Top Hat - A Midsummer Night's Dream

I, for one, I am dreaming of summer festivals, backyard lanterns and bare feet. I am so glad C came along with her gorgeous wedding details in Persian purple and monochromatic blues. Mosses, branches, whimsical bow ties for the boys and, of course, tea pots! (A girl after my own heart!)


I am fairly certain that every mother secretly wants to see her daughter in a veil. I wore two veils as I walked down the aisle to appease everyone. True story. To me: this french net is the perfect compromise. It is tucked within the flowers to give it natural, full look then cascades along the side and bottom of the brim to give the illusion and certainly the feel of wearing a bird cage veil. (I tried this on and gasped. I am now planning my 678th wedding..)



I created a ruffle from both dupioni silks to keep with the elegant feel C is going for. It also acts as a little flower cone for the spray of purple flowers. Details! Details!

It shouldn't be a hard transition today to work on Faerie hats for the festival!

Tea Party Mini Top Hat - Part deux

Oh custom orders! You complete me. I had a bridal party order a set of ADORABLE hats for a Mad Bridal Tea Party. She requested the ever classic Tea Party Mini Top hat that we all know and love :


But instead she asked for a white and pink pin stripe fabric. I can not tell you how in love I am with the new spin! It makes this hat even daintier and sweeter. Didn't think it possible.





As if that wasn't cute enough to eat: She requested matching Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum mini top hats for her sisters. The idea to make pinwheels instead of propellers hit me IMMEDIATELY. Once I started making the pinwheels, I literally could not stop.

I shipped the hats out yesterday and hat to talk myself out of keeping them all for myself! Enjoy ladies!! These are some of my favorites to date!!

Bridal Mini Top Hats - Un-Veiled

I wish daily that I was making these mini top hats when I got married! The brides I work with are extraordinary! They take something like a mini top hat and make it completely their own whether their theme is Marie Antoinette, Pin Up or the Mad Hatter!

I just completed a collection of Mini Top Hats with birdcage veils! Inspired by and for all of the unique, classic and remarkable brides that visit my shop!

The day of the photo shoot was painstakingly hot. Knees sweating, curling irons, running around, humid summer rain hot! Still we managed to have a BALL! Thank you to the marvelous Leah Miller and my beautiful models for taking the heat and producing some seriously striking shots!
