Wedding Mini Top Hat with Birdcage Veil

I felt like making a hat that was sexy and dramatic but subtle enough to be versatile. Computer screens do not do this shade of purple any justice. It has grey hues like wisteria.

Gaspppp* The Jill Andrews Gowns studio
Honestly, photos dont do this shit justice either. Mantels and sunlight and soaring ceilings, couture and lace and feathers. And of course Jill, herself!  Ugh. Never ever want to leave.

I swear we didnt even plan my hat and Jill's stunning purple gown. Welcome to my world people. The gown is actually from The brand spankin new Jill Andrews Studio Line. Get fricken excited. Click the photo for more info.

The materials from this hat came from a nice little hoard per usual. The "ombre" peony. Ha. Back in school we use to call that monochromatic. But whatevs. I'll be hip. Grey goose feathers and grey French netting almost became a hundred different things before they found their home on this gal.

Meow. Magic face: Erica Von Lindberg of A Second Glance Salon.
Makeup by the gorgeous, wonderful Maureen Flynn of Tom Ford. "I want to make her lips look like she was sucking on a lollipop." Umm ok. Yes. Do THAT.

Photography by the one, the only, Leah Miller.

Quinceanera Hats

I remember going to many quinceaneras when I was growing up. I looked forward to every single one. With the birthday girl dressed up in the perfect princess dress looking like a a perfect petit four dancing with her father. Quinceaneras are full of so many beautiful traditions that I revert back to 15 when I get a chance to create for one!

The deets: This mini top hat was handmade from scratch using white satin and a baby blue satin bow. The cluster of ostrich feathers, white rose and vintage button make this hat fit for a queen.

Not only is this little lady having the birthday party of her life, but she gets a Mad Hatter hat change in the middle!

Created from scratch with an olive green satin and matching green and white striped silk. Yellow, pink and purple flowers with peacock feather detail. The custom mad hatter tag boasts the date of the big day - 10 /19 will be here soooon!

Join me in sending this special lady some almost birthday wishes! I had a ball creating these hats dreaming of Latin American dances, candles and all of the spectacular festivities!

Mother Daughter Tea Party Hats

Back by popular demand! A new pair of matching tiny top hats for moms and their girls or girls and their dolls. Our last set of tea party hats have been retired for a few months, but I have to confess - I am loving this new design more than anything.

I picked up this pink and white Laura Ashley fabric in "English Country Rose" at my favorite little beach fabric shop on the Eastern Shore. When I saw that is was stain resistant, I knew it was perfect for the new children's set.

I wanted to keep with the classic "shabby chic" feel of the print. The oversized bow is made with a pale, blush pink satin. The vintage ivory lace trim and brown leather buttons were both picked up at a Vermont flea market. (Along with a pink tambourine and rickety fiddle)

For all you mom's, aunts and serious gift givers - I cannot think of anything more perfect or more unique for a baby shower or girl's birthday party gift.

Click THIS to purchase

Most of my designs can be replicated as a set - so never fear asking for whatever floats your boat!

Happy Tea Time you dainty little ladies!
