Alice in Wonderland in Black and White....and RED!
I've said it before and I'll say it again: My customers blow my mind. How each of you take such a classic theme like Alice in Wonderland and make it so unique, so original and so you. I loved every single one of these bridal party hats individually but as a whole - they are Show Stoppers.

Wedding Inspiration: Mad Hatter Chic

I was so excited and to be honest, a little nervous for Nicole's red, orange and green inspiration photos. Being a pink and purple gal myself, I knew something magical would come of pushing my color envelope. I found the PERFECT vintage mushroom pin from BlendedSplendid on Etsy. (Seriously - if you love anything retro, kitschy or fantastically odd - you will find something you want in her shop!)

I was giddy. GIDDY about the finished product. I can just see Nicole's entire ensemble now!

There's nothing like a June bride...

Hats off to Nicole! Wishing you the wedding of your dreams!
Happy Monday everyone!

"Not too shabby" Boudoir Shoot
Photos from the mini hat boudoir extravaganza have arrived!!! We've had a trying week here at Two Back Flats so you can imagine how thrilled I was ripping open this envelope...

Alana and I met in college while we were studying Visual Communications and Design and I cannot be more thankful that she still rocks her graphic design magic through Vanity's Edge. In addition to being a smashing photographer, I go ga ga over Alana's feminine, sultry style.

My last minute decision to be a part of A's Shabby Chic inspired boudoir shoot was the best decision I've made in a while. I'm almost thankful I didn't have tons of time to psych myself out. I tend to do that ;) The morning of the shoot, I had to stop myself from chewing off my nails.

Not only did I have zero to be worried about but I had a blasssst with Alana. Being decked out in hats and surrounded by her breezy, romantic set was only half of it. We did not stop laughing the entire day.
Enjoy the following husband approved photos from the shoot! ;)

Remember this hat? Only one will be available verrry soon in my Etsy shop for your summer tea parties...

Any chance to wear these shoes is a chance I'm taking...

This bad ass vintage hat box came from where most of my most cherished vintage finds come from (including my wedding band :)

Though our original "Tea Party Hat" has retired. One rogue petite size is left for one tiny lady...

**Yes, Renn-Festers ... The hat above is a mini tricorn hat. Get excited**

Seriously Swank Bridal Party Hats
Oh the girly-ness of it all! I may crash this pink and green bridal shower. And might I say that this is how you treat your best girls...

All hats were handmade from scratch using gorgeous monochromatic shades of pink and green. From lime green and hot pink to chartreuse and mauve. Decked out with black rhinestone trim, matching vintage rhinestone buttons and sleek black and green feathers.
Hey! Did you know?: "Mischievous nymphs were said to hide in the petals of the Peony thus causing this magnificent flower to be given the meaning of Shame or Bashfulness in theLanguage of Flowers..." I like it ;)

For the bride and maid of honor, I wanted to keep with the same fun but elegant tone. A polka dotted bow, black and white ostrich feathers and a budding pink peony to tie it all together!
Love. Love. Love.

Oh the Madness!
Just when you thought you were the maddest, the owner of this mini top hat will come along and do something like serve you coffee instead of tea. Shannon was incredible to work with. "If you're gonna go Mad Hatter, go Mad Hatter, right?" Music to my ears....

Created from scratch using gorgeous hot pink and turquoise satins. Trimmed OUT in antique gold and amber trims, colorful foam and paper flowers, peekaboo gold damask fabrics, a pocket full of curled peacock feathers! Oh my!

Every single Mad Hatter tag is hand drawn and crafted with ridiculous amounts of awesome detailing..

I picked this vintage pin up from a Flea in Fells Point last summer. Im not entirely sure when it is from but it screams 50's to me with the painted metals and rhinestone bird eyes. Ooooo. I have been saving it until I found its perfect fit and Shannon was the one!!

Steamy Punks
I must confess - I'm a little new to the phenomenon that is Steampunk. Although , who doesnt love time travel and the Victorian era? Lacy and Brandon did it up right along with their awesomely talented photographer Daniel Stark. (Seriously, click the link. I was drawn into his wedding photography immediately.)

I'm finicky with the color red. Even as a kid, I refused to wear red, color in red or...well thats all you do as a kid, right? Wear clothes and color? . It has to be justtt the right shade for me to love it. Hands down, Lacy pulled it off with these bridal party dresses. And...How much do you love those jet black feather bouquets?? This looks like a party I would like to go to.

Lacy chose the ever classic Victorian Carnival Mini Top Hat for her blood red and black wedding! Perfect!

Cherry on Top: There are few things that make me as giddy as seeing one of my brides and one of my hats on Rock n Roll Bride! Congrats Lacy and Brandon! Check out more photos HERE!
