Because I still can't believe every day is full of beautiful, new, shiny things. Shiny people.

seerSUCKER

Oh these little gum drops. These two tiny confections. Custom made for a SPLENDID (if I may say so myself) baby shower gift. Twin BOY AND GIRL!

Apparently mamma likes muted tones, anything nautical and is having an Alice in Wonderland themed shower. Seersucker. Duh.

I can hardly stand these yellow paper flowers. I sort of want an entire hat dripping with them.

Every little thing I do is girly girly girly so creating a hat for a baby boy to match was challenging. After trying 36 different things I went to my trusty buttons!! Love the pops of turquoise with the green and yellow.

The gift box!!

Thank you Olga!! You are such a great friend. I can hardly wait for these baby photos!!!!

As always for your own custom hat message me via my SHOP HERE.

Quinceanera Hats

I remember going to many quinceaneras when I was growing up. I looked forward to every single one. With the birthday girl dressed up in the perfect princess dress looking like a a perfect petit four dancing with her father. Quinceaneras are full of so many beautiful traditions that I revert back to 15 when I get a chance to create for one!

The deets: This mini top hat was handmade from scratch using white satin and a baby blue satin bow. The cluster of ostrich feathers, white rose and vintage button make this hat fit for a queen.

Not only is this little lady having the birthday party of her life, but she gets a Mad Hatter hat change in the middle!

Created from scratch with an olive green satin and matching green and white striped silk. Yellow, pink and purple flowers with peacock feather detail. The custom mad hatter tag boasts the date of the big day - 10 /19 will be here soooon!

Join me in sending this special lady some almost birthday wishes! I had a ball creating these hats dreaming of Latin American dances, candles and all of the spectacular festivities!

Mini Minnie Mouse Bowler Hat

Got a message from the sweetest hubby ever stating that his wife has just a wee obsession with Minnie Mouse. Namely, her yellow bowler hat with the lovely daisy. He just had to have one made for her. This guy is winning.

When I created the petite hat, we immediately knew we needed one larger. It's always fun to have a little more room to play, but that tiny tiny hat is cuter than a button.

I wish wish wish I had a chance to take a photo wearing these. I assure you they are even more awesome on...

I simply adore trying something new, so for your own custom order - you know the drill:

Garden Party Top Hat - Ob La Di

Hello loves! Remember this sunny, bright, colorful top hat? Yea - me too. I won't sell it ;) Well with so much interest and a dwindling supply of foam flowers, I have created a twin for her for sale in my Etsy shop.

This version is a little more dressed up using red, yellow, hot pink and purple silk flowers. Instead of the yellow bandana, The Ob La Di is sporting a navy blue satin sash and bow. Making this hat perfect for any tea party, garden party, or Alice inspired frolic.

The contrast of the pop of colors with the classic navy blue stripe makes me want to be on a boat. A really really fun boat.

Mini Top Hats for Tea Party Goers

I had to share one of the custom mini top hats I shipped this week. When I ask people what their inspiration is, I love seeing photos of lavish tea parties and bouquets of peonies. But one special lady simply responded "Thunderstorms. Blue and Yellow". What a smashing concept. The outcome was a delight. I love this hat so much, I had trouble shipping it!

Created from scratch using my favorite* blue/gray dupioni silk. I tried to convey the rolling of thunder with the dramatic cascade of pale yellows. Bolts of striking yellow flowers and pops of dusty blue buds. The droopy yellow and blue stems in the back are breathlessly romantic. There are subtle rhinestones and pearls hidden within for even more depth.

Once the photos were taken, it reminded me so much of "The Garden of Earthly Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. A little dark and a lot of fantasy.

I am thrilled to say this is now for sale in my shop for tea party goers, throwers, lovers of gardens, thunderstorms or anything delightful!

I have to thank my customers once again for for inspiring me every single day!

"What day of the month is it?" - Mad Hatter

Today is the 15th!

The Birthday of a spectacular girl with serious taste. When A sent me a photo of her outfit and described her pink, blue, orange, yellow and green Mad Hatter Birthday extravaganza, I was drooling to make her hat.

It is an artist's dream to have someone say "Go for it." And so I did...

Complete with peacock feathers, amber rhinestones, a custom Birthday tag and one of my favorite vintage finds ever! I have been hoarding this pin for months. I'm so glad it found its permanent home on such a pretty little thing.

Happy 15/9!!
